what can i say…it’s been another thanksgiving…this year, we had 12 people over for dinner…everyone had tons of food to eat…i had a good time…go figure…so what if it was a million degrees because of the fire stove…

the boys had a great time, eating everything sight…but it caused them to sleep the night through…

on other note, my brother actually went to the morning madness sale at 3am…they bought a tv and some other stuff…sounds cool…we’re goign to go check it out in a little while…

just a laundry list of family stuff…nothing spectacular…just a nice night and a nice dinner…

more later of course

so i was surfing around for more lynn chen pictures and biography…when i came across t his guy’s blog…i thought i’ve seen people’s utter ignorance for all things not familiar to them…but what i realized was that all that i’ve seen…only scratched the surface. these white fuckin ignorant people are just blows my mind…here’s the story. for those of you who are too lazy to click on the link, it essentially says that this chinese woman is fighting in the courts for her right to enroll her child in a japanese language immersion program in the afternoon (sort of like kindergarten) and in the morning a more traditional pre-school/kindergarten thing. unfortunately, the woman’s white ex-husband has decided that he can’t have that…because he believes that his young daughter will be developmentally retarded by not learning english as her primary language…so…he’s decided that his little girl can only learn english because he doesn’t speak anything else…and if she spoke something else, it would cause her to be distant from him…the absolutely ridiculous thing is that the court arbitrator and the judges agreed with him.

what kind of fuckin logic is that?! the child is a caucasian, chinese, and japanese mix. she has to learn to embrace three different cultures…but count on a white man to reject all other cultures except for his own. funny thing is that the caucasian culture is all borrowed…

i want to scream at this man…and tell him that he’s not only ignorant, he’s in the process of attributing to his daughter’s ignorance of who she is. shouldn’t that be considered child abuse? to prevent the child from broadening her horizons…children are so resilient, and they are a sponge for knowledge. all they want is to learn…and he’s preventing that in his own flesh and blood in the name of love. what else is he going to do in the name of love? “i love my child so much that to prevent her from getting hurt ever, i’m going to never let her contact other people”. my baby cousin was brought up with 4 different languages in the house, and as a child of 3, he knew who to answer in what language…he’s an intelligent child and prefectly “adjusted”, whatever that means.

here’s Joyce Shui’s blog site…check it out and maybe leave her feedback so she knows that someone supports her…

again i say…fuckin ignorant people…

watched saving face over the weekend…was a very nice blend of comedy and romance…albeit not the usual way…the story goes…girl meets girl…girl loses girl…girl gets girl back. in any case…the movie like i said was very cute…however, to be perfectly objective, the characters could be better developed. i’m not quite sure whether that’s because of the lack of experience from the director/screenwriter…or the lack of experience from the actors themselves. whatever it is…it just simply didn’t matter…mostly because the characters are so easy on the eyes.

my new entertainment crush is officially now lynn chen. just check out this pictures!

Lynn Chen

okay, granted that i usually don’t go for asian women…but damn she’s easy on the eyes…

here’s another one as well…

And yet another one…:

the last one got to me…i love that crooked smile. kinda like my girl’s smile…i enjoy watching her with this half smile…part wicked…and part playful…love it…

anyway…that’s it for now…

so it’s monday…if you couldn’t tell from the title…

my best friend is leaving in a few days for cali…a new job, new apartment…a new beginning for her in a life that’s been…well, somewhat difficult i would think.

maybe it’s me…i’m a creature of habit perhaps. i can’t imagine picking up everything to go cross country…where i know no one…it would be easier obviously if i had alexis and the boys with me…but she’s doing it alone…much like she’s done it all her life…i suppose that’s what i see as courage in her. i will miss her…but quite truthfully, she’s been away a lot…years in texas, then in DC, and now cali…

we had a little bonding session on sunday…5 of us from hs…and our respective sig others. quite bittersweet if you think about it…we don’t knwo when the next time we’ll all be together like this again…i suppose i’m quite lucky in the friends department. my best friends have remained the same core 5 people since i was 16…we’ve been through so much, our chemistry is probably something that can never be duplicated…

as she says, it’s not like she’s moving to mars…modern technology insures me that i’ll at least speak to her on a regular basis…and email/im…still sad though…

okay, back to work now…
