i don’t believe in god…never have. at least not the christian god…nor do i believe in any other defined deity. there is a higher power i’m sure…but i wonder what they’re doing…napping it seems.
christians believe the suffering is necessary to find salvation…logically speaking, after suffering your entire earthly existence, even a slight improvement would be better wouldn’t it? so is god playing a psychological game with us?
“here, i’ll fuck up your life for the next 80 years…and when you finally die, i’ll give you a taste of the party…”
of course you’re going to think you’re in heaven…but isn’t heaven what you make of it?
what’s heaven…angels, harps, half naked kids with wings and some funky looking white people? i call that texas on acid. my heaven would be to always be with those i love and care about…but i certaintly do not have the disillusion that is someone else’s version of what heaven is.
so where is your merciful god when you’re suffering? when you see the pictures of children covered in blood crying in desparation next to the body of their mother, now broken and unrecognizable, where is your god? where is that omnipotent god when bombs are flying and wives are losing husbands and mothers losing children. where is the omniscient god you hold so high. why is he beyond judgement?
you allow government to manipulate your faith, you allow yourself to be sent back to a time when believing in another faith equated with barbary. who is barbaric? every holy book advocates forgiveness and tolerance…the commandments tell you to love thy neighbor…but you have to read the fine point:
“love thy neighbor…but only if they’re christian, believe in the same things you do. in case they don’t, you’re more than free to kill him in the name of religion and say that you’re serving god’s will…”
does that make sense to you?
