well, it’s monday…and i think i’ve finally recovered from the vegas trip. although i can swear i slept more in the last few days than i have in the last year or so. so monday morning finds me not quite happy, but at work a bit earlier than i originally intended but hey, i’m getting some stuff done…anyway, it’s only for a few days, and i’m gone to sunny taiwan…where, as my mom tells me, the temperature is around a nice comfortable…75F. so, i’ll be getting the hell out of this fridgid cold…and into tanning weather. okay, so i don’t really tan, nor do i intend to ( i look like a bushwoman when i’m tanned, it’s very unbecoming) - but it’s still nice the option is available.

anyway, ooh, yes before i forget…good luck to trish with her finals this week…you’re going to do just fine love, i have faith in you. ooh, and aimlet, good luck on your game against south on friday…i’m sorry i won’t be here to get the results first hand, but be sure to email me and let me know…but your blonde ass better be resting after that game…cause you know, mono is not a fun thing to have, and neither is exhaustion.

okay…gotta go back to work or something…sheesh, these people working me to the bone and shit…you know…respect…*shakes head*

later…

well, home i is…it was the most exhausting 5 days…but rewarding nontheless. i had a great time…manning the registers…so here’s the break down of my trip to vegas…now keep in mind it was for business…and i love how redken treats their employees…

friday night - arrived a little late into vegas…damn newark airport, took us over an hour on the runway to take off. but we got there…lights and sounds of vegas awaited…there were slot machines right when you walk out of the airport terminal…grabbed my bags, and went to the hotel. my roommate is IT for our kentucky distribution center, so we hung out, talked…and ordered room service.

saturday - woke up early, went to the kickoff party…let me tell you about these people, shit they’re perky in the mornings. had a great breakfast, went through the pep rally…and setup the gallerie (which was where we had all the products and stuff setup for sale)…then after all that was done, we got back to the room, showered, dressed, and headed over to rain at the palms hotel and casino. at rain, we had dinner…thank god they fed us…everythign from sushi to fresh roast beef. total yummy treat…and not to mention open bar!! the after meal entertainment was smashmouth…yeah…it was definitely fun. some of us kinda got tired of rain and decided to go to http://www.n9negroup.com/http_docs/ghostbar/vegas/ghost_vegas_home.asp…which is another bar in the palms. it had the most amazing view of vegas…55 stories up, a complete view of all the lights of vegas. they had this one piece of plexi glass…on the floor outside in the open air bar…no net, nothing…you stand there, look down, and you see, 55 stories down…kinda weak-in-the-knee scary…but amazing. some dude decided that he was going to be cool and jump up and down on that plexi glass…we left him to his own devices. anyway, had a really good time…but knowing we would have a horribly busy day, we decided to bouce after that.

sunday morning found me a little hung over…but manageable…until i got to the gallerie. just to give you an idea on how big this place is…we had to allot “commute time” to walk to the convention center. it took about 20 minutes to walk from my room to the convention center…and i was still in the same hotel…the 20 minutes was pure walking…and that means excluding the elevator ride. anyway…so, we were supposed to be open to the employees working the symposium around 8…at 745, the server containing the software for the point-of-sales system died…all registers died along with it. we had people coming out the wazoo in lines…all were just freaking out. for 3 hours after that, we ran around and tried to get it up and running. people were waiting on line for over an hour to pay for their stuff…must’ve been a hell of a discount. so 10 hours later…and absolutely no feeling in my leg or feet, we closed down for the night. my friend sabrina and i worked out this whole system as to how we handled the customers and transactions. we were doing 3 transactions at the same time…but we kept up with all of it…no sweat. definitely made a good team. anyway, after closing, we headed to the “grand opening” that night…and watched some of the most amazing performers from cirque du soleil. i went back to my room, skipped the after party, and decided to crash for the night.

monday found me pretty much the same as sunday, with hordes of people lining up to buy things, disgruntled, but ready with their cash and cards. only today, i was smarter…i decided to screw putting on my shoes…and went just in my socks…made my feet a whole hell of a lot more comfortable. sabrina and i by this time are working so well together that we had, according the customers, “the fastest moving line”. monday night found us having a free night…the girls decided to all head out to bellagio and see what vegas looked like…so we did…ate at the bellagio, gambled a little there…and when the vibe didn’t feel right, we headed back to mandalay bay. karen, one of the girls in our group, decided to teach us how to gamble…and so we did. i was up about $100…then lost $20 on the slots. *shrug* oh well. anyway, i ended the night around 2am at the craps table.

tuesday morning found me tired as all hell…but happy that the trip was drawing to a close. we all worked through the day, and closed down…packed up the boxes to be shipped home…and went to a staff party. had a great time there…went back to the room, had dinner with friends, and then everyone flew home on the red-eye. i had opted to stay until the next morning.

wednesday morning i was up and at ‘em at 430…and flew home around 7.

all in all, i had a good time, walked a great deal (measures it using one of those walking things, and it came up to be over 40 miles for the whole time i was there). anyway, i really did have a good time, tired…and stressful at times, but overall, a very very good time. i’m thankful that i had this opportunity to be somewhere i’ve never been…was definitely a memorable trip. i did take some pics that i’m sure i’ll post at some point…

hope you all had a good weekend as well…leaving now…see ya!

well, thanks to my darling friend ali…who apparently had no pity that i braved the cold walking part ways to work, i was dealt with a saddening blow to my already fagile fantasy…the beautiful and talented aly hannigan is going to marry that oaf she’s been dating for the last…however long. see the article here *clutches at a broken heart* oh the depressing news. now, i’ve gotta go moping around for the day…*sniff* *sniff* damn lucky bastard…christ what does he have that i don’t??!! actually, don’t answer that… you know, i could be a good fan and say, “well, i hope aly and alexis are happy together…” (insert gagging noises here) - but…i’m never a good loser, i’m going say i hope she gets her heart broken and comes running to me so i can comfort her with my own style of soothing magic…*sighing while staring at a picture of aly*

*shrug* oh well, now that fantasy bubble is broken…wonder who i’m going to obsess over now? *quickly looking through E!online for a new celebrity to fawn over*…well, time to get busy and work through the pain…*sigh*

oh yes i am…the signed and sealed mortgage papers were dropped off at mr. mortgage man’s office…so, barring any unforseen circumstances, i’m officially a home owner. calling the lawyer now, and letting him know that all is in order…hmm…now i have to do a initial inspection…well, here we go! i know i know…i’ll probably repeat myself over the course of the next few weeks, just keep saying…”i have a house” “i have a house” - okay, really an apartment…but whatever…it’s mine…

starting to look at furniture…who would’ve thunk furniture is actually expensive? parents said they might get me my couch as a house warming present…i’m thinking of it as more of a “thank god you’re finally out of the house” kind of present.

so, while i’m sitting in the frigid temperatures, and praying it’s summer soon…i have thoughts of my new home to keep me warm…okay, cheezy, i know…but still…*grin*

hopefully i’ll not work late tonight and actually get home on time…*keeping fingers crossed*

well, i must be off, it’s delicious sushi tuesday (since ali had the audacity to miss sushi monday)…yummy…sushi…*drool*

staring into the fire that i built…hee hee, yes, i built fire! *grunting like cavewoman* - i should be doing work…there’s some shit i need to do or something…eh *shrug* i suppose i could do that, oooorrr…i could sit here and watch one of the most pointless movies ever made…hardball…with keanu reeves…granted he’s pretty good looking…but christ he can’t act. there’s no acting skill whatsoever with this dude…i still see him in that stupid bill and ted’s movie, all stoned out of his head. okay…he’s not quite stable in this movie either…shit this is such a horrible movie…and yet, i’m watching it…kinda like an acident. you can’t help but watch it. i suppose there is the usual, you can over come anything moral in it. but i think i blinked, and missed it.

in any case…pretty quiet weekend, well, there were a few highlights *blush* but exactly how i like my weekends. but…ummm…ooh!! now the underdogs are striking back and going to the championships or something…yeah, that was unexpected. way to surprise your audience there mr. director man. did this movie make any money in the theatre? oh damn, there’s a drive-by…ladies and gentleman, we have the casualty that will help the team soar into the championships. *sniff* *sniff* touching moment. there’s gotta be this blueprint of “how to make a horrible movie” right?

okay, so the papers have been signed…documents copied…and envelope has been sealed…everything is going out tomorrow…and *takes a deep breath* the house is finally mine. *huge silly grin* i’m a home owner…of couse when i move in, it’ll be a bit more real than it is now. but…i’ve got a mortgage, signed contract of sale, the whole nine. so…color me excited.

so that’s pretty much it for now…unless something very unexpected happens, i won’t be adding to this until tomorrow. hope you all had a great weekend.

ciao!
